come again…?

These past days, I’ve been busy with these…

I made the purple piñata on the right using the same concept as when I made the lego piñata for MasterD’s birthday. Only, this time, I used one box for a smaller piñata, wrapped it in purple crepe paper, and glued print outs of Rarity on two sides of the box.

And it’ s all for this little rascal…

MissL just turned 9 today and we had cake and pasta at home just to mark the day. She and MasterD wants to go swimming with their friends, so that will be this coming weekend.

Delighted to get more Trash Wheels…!

And Quino Cafe’s mini rainbow cake from Tita Kat, of course.

Honestly, I just started my new job like two weeks ago and am still in training. It’s been hectic and I’ve seriously thought of not going through with the mini party on Saturday. But a promise to my little hobbit is a promise that I’ll no doubt keep. I’m guessing there’ll be no sleep for me very soon as I’ve been working on night shifts and have to do errands for the picnic/party during mornings. I’ve basically been on flight mode these past days.

Anyway, celebration to be continued…

Recycle, Reuse: deep purple

Well, here’s another dress I restyled recently.

It used to be a simple purple dress with a bubble skirt like so…

Well, you can’t really see the whole dress, can you? Sorry. Can’t ind any other picture with me wearing the dress…. Anyway, the hem was too short that I avoided wearing the dress during warm days as there really is a need to wear stockings.

I finished sewing the lace on but I haven’t worn it yet. So, yeah, I’ll post an OOTD here once I get to wear it.

Posting the throwback pic above makes my want to curl up in my bed close my eyes and dream of care bears, sunshine, and my loves… and how things used to be…

Well, thanks for visiting… I miss my old life… And I need a big break… Bliss… Please…

How about you? What are you yearning for….

DIY: lego piñata

As promised, here is a step by step images of how I made the two-compartment lego piñata for MasterD’s birthday.

I used four small boxes, two for each compartment.

Put one box over another, like so, then tape together.

Tape the two compartments together then cut a flap opening at the would-be bottom of the piñata.

Then, I covered it with newspaper to smooth out the uneven surfaces.

I used one Pringles container for those round studs and covered them with newspaper as well.

And then paint away… After the paint dried, I cut slits on the bottom flaps to to attach pull strings onto. Noticeably, there are several pull strings. Most of them are fake to add a little thrill and more anticipation.

Basically, I just slid them fake pull strings into the slits without securing them. But I did secure one pull string on each flap by knotting the end I slid in and putting duct tape on it.

And here’s how the lego piñata looks when hung…

Thanks for visiting… Good day!

Recycle, Reuse: knit sweater => knit midi

As the title suggests, the victim for this recycled-restyled post is an old knit sweater…

I forgot to take a picture before I began snipping off the sleeves, but here’s some photos of when I wore it some time in 2011…

Wearing: Banana Republic sweater, jeggings, Doc Martens boots, black bag.

And so, after snipping off the sleeves, I sewed close about four-inches of the armhole up to the would-be waistband of the would-be midi. I also closed the top of said waistband, leaving a small gaping hole so I can ease myself into the skirt to wear.

Then, I hemmed both sides of the gaping hole to fasten the lose threads, added buttons and ribbons to fasten the skirt close . And ta-daaah!

Will post as OOTD when I chance on wearing it. And by the by, I’ll be posting a visual how-to of how I made the two-compartment lego pinata as soon as I get enough time (and device memory) to upload the pics… been using mobile and tablet lately and it takes forever for me to load them images…

Thanks for dropping by. How was your day, by the way? Hope you had a great one… Til next!

say what?!?

While the City of Smiles has been busy prepping for the Masskara festival this coming weekend, I’ve been busy with these…

A diy two-compartment lego pinata. Will post a diy of how I made it. And…

MasterD turned 10 today. And because it’s a Wednesday and a schoolday, we’ll be celebrating it on Saturday.

A save-the-date prepared by Kat.

Stole this from The Mister’s portfolio to use for the invites. See?

To mark the day, we still had a simple preparation at home. 20141015_171821

Celebration to be continued…

Style File: of mint, cream, and roses

First of all, it’s The Mister’s birthday today and I made a promise to him that I’m definitely keeping… Love him lots! Anyhoo, here’s an OOTD of my recent recycled-restyled piece

I’m wearing: Bayo lace top, diy floral skirt, nude pvc flats.

Now, I’ve had this top for the looongest time-for over 10 years, I kid you not. lace-top-floral-skirt-nude-pvc-flats

If you might notice, I cut me bangs! I probably have never mentioned, but I’m such a fan of Nicole Richie… she’s one of my style idols! I was inspired to get zeh bangs because of her.

I apologize for the quality of these photos. These were taken hurriedly early evening. Guess who my photogs were.

Them hobbitses, of course. And somehow, one deleted the photo I took of them. We were getting frustrated. See?

I really appreciate that MasterD is always there, ready to be my comfort when I’m stressing out. And MissL, … Well, she has a poker face like me. But when she feels that the timing is right, she does her part in making me feel better. I feel blessed. And,oh! I recently joined Bloglovin’,

Recycle, Reuse: floral dress into skirt

I enjoy reconstructing items in my closet to give them new life, and of course to give myself a new wardrobe to rock. For this post, it’s this dress:

floral marilyn monroe inspired dress

I had it custom-made to wear to our friends’ wedding a few years back. daryll-odessa-wedding-cebu daryll-odessa-wedding-reception-cebu daryll-odessa-wedding-2012

But then after, I only got to wear the dress just once more and that was for our family portrait.div-gon-family-portrait

So, I recently decided to restyle the dress into a skirt. And a few snips and cuts, the dress is now a skirt…! I removed the bodice and shortened them hem.

I’ll be posting an OOTD for this skirt when I get the chance to wear it.

How about you? Do you have a recycle-restyle story to share?

Style File: tuxedo dress

I’m wearing: Ted Baker dress, Liz Claiborne bag, and diy cuffed heels.

No occasion. It’s just one of those days when a girl feels down and in need of a pick-me-up.

How about you? What perks you up when you’re depressed and feeling gloomy?

Recycle, Reuse: two become one

Haha! The title whizzes me back to high school! My friends and I were such big fans of the Spice Girls! What! Yeah…

Anyway, for this recycled item, I used two old tops to make one dress.

top #1: plain shirt- used for the bodice of the dress.

top #2: animal print top- used for the skirt.

And, voila!

Well, I had hoped the dress would be more flattering on me, but it isn’t. And since I don’t want to get rid of it just yet, I’ll be tossing this into my sleepwear drawer instead. And speaking of sleep, I’m hitting the hay.

Ciao! Thanks for dropping by…

I already missed posting my style picks during the Oscars, Golden Globes, the Critic’s Choice, and whatnot, and it looks like I might miss posting my faves during the Grammys as well. But, I’ll make time. For now, let me leave you with an outfit I’d wear if I were to go to the Grammys. Hah! I wish! Hey, it’s free to dream, right?
